Review: The Wolfman

I went to the screening of THE WOLFMAN yesterday with high expectations...because it seems to be a solid production with award winning cast.....I have been a big fans of Benicio Del Toro and his last film which he portays as Che Guevara has been awesome. Back to this film...this film is definitely a no-no....Here's a very good reason.....I never expect that this movie would use cheap shock...It is a 150 million production....they should have think of something fresh and it really lack of genuine shock..The movie is way too gory as well...which for me..would be a little bit unnecessary as they could be focus more on the plot (which has no suspense at all). I have no comment on the CGI effect as they are actually quite good and seem real. The best part of the movie would be the acting powered by Anthony Hopkins, Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving...Yea...they are all solid actors......
So, to make this movie a better film, they have to strip off some gore...the cheap shocks....and more momentum on the plot...(It just run merely a little bit more than 90 mins)......
For me...the most dissapointing part of the movie would be the cheap shock...really....it do shocked you...but they are all unnecessary....really couldn't believe that they put cheap shock in an expensive production... The best part would be the wolfman chasing scene as the CGI are done really great....The transformation of human to a wolf seems real as well....and of coz the solid acting by Benicio and the gang...
But overall...it is a dissapointing movie..

Rating: 5.5/10 (major points for acting and CGI)

I'm Back

Hello guys, it's been a while that I have stopped blogging...And suddenly...I feels like blogging again...It's always an on-off thing for me....Anyway...I have been in Malaysia for the past 3 months and back to Tassie two weeks ago....Nothing much has been going on in Malaysia...Working for the 9 weeks, went for a trip to Singapore, and Penang, then celebrate Chinese New Year with family...that's it about my Malaysia trip...I spent most of the time at home besides of working...so..life in Malaysia has been boring...The only thing that I do like to do in Malaysia would be hitting the gym...yea...I'm FIT...not FAT...everyone has been saying that I gained a lot of weight and fat and blah blah blah...I'm not saying that I'm 100% fit with strong biceps and triceps with an obvious 6 pack...i might say I am 60 to 70% to that...(which is good and satify for my..myself)...Not fancy about body building....it's all about being healthy...I don't look handsome....or should say ugly..So...a nice body would fit on any clothes (and that is important for me...haha) I have not been watching many movies in Malaysia..or perhaps should say just 4 which are New Moon (which sucks badly), Avatar 3D ( which is groundbreaking ), Sherlock Holmes ( which is suprisingly nice ) and Tiger Woohoo ( Yea...local movie which is ridiculous but funny).
The biggest thing that happened in my house would be the new 46 inch Sony Bravia LCD TV equipped with a new Blu Ray Home Theatre System....YES!!! It did happened thanks to my dad who has been visiting the electrical shops almost everyday after work ( which I kept telling my mum that they should buy it ASAP or I would have to follow him to the shops ) I only thought of just getting the LCD but not the home theatre system. Getting the home theatre system is kinda last minute decision from my dad which I was shocked that he made that decision ( He has been objecting of even buying one blu ray player ) I thought he was kidding when he was buying that system...lolzz...what a suprise!!! It turned up that my dad bought it and he subscribe to ASTRO which provides several High Definition channels. I was very happy with it and I will always remember that the first football match that I watch in HD would be arsenal vs liverpool!!! yea.....watching football in glourious HD is indeed a gvery good experience for me...too bad that I could only watch 2 live matches and I have to head back to Tassie. I miss the LCD and the system so much now...
That's all for today......gonna continue blogging tomorrow....yea....gonna end the blog with a movie review...bye and nite!!

REVIEW: FINAL DESTINATION 3D

Hmm...before I go into the review of this movie...I would like to mention about one of the trailer shown before the movie begins..I was suprised that the trailer of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY was shown in the cinema..never thought that it will reach Hobart...haha...this trailer is different from the ones shown in the internet...this trailer seriously gave me goosebumps...Fantastic trailer plus the perfect sound system in the cinema hall, this trailer really scared me and I know why this movie is so popular and defined as one of the most scariest movie in decades...Can't wait to watch it...
Alrite, let's get back to the review of final destination. Just the movie itself....this movie is almost a trash....incoherant plot, predictable outcome and some undone CGI as well.....but it still provide the basic needs as a thriller as it has brutal violent, gore and blood...Back ti 3D, the director really make full use of the 3D gimmik as it really made this movie watchable...blood splashing in front of you, sharp knife and stick pointing at you, huge radiator thrown at you, etc...but the most fun thing would be the 3D sex scene..yea....nice!! overall, this movie is still a thrill ride if you switch off your brain and enjoy the ride...

Rating: 3+3 (3 for movie and another 3 for 3D effect)

Hmm...

Hmm..not sure what to put on as the title...Has not been writing blog fro quite some time again...nothing much happen.....Had quite a week including both wins for fulham and chelsea in the european football night...what a way to bounce back for both teams!!! Went to watch funny people on friday...another masterpiece from Judd Apatow which has full of signature of him in this film...from adult jokes to light comedy and drama...the cast is great which Judd includes the list with his wife and his 2 daughters in this movie..haha....Formal review will be posted once I am free..haha...For the weekends....had usual badminton sessions in the afternoon...then went up for dinner at friends' house and did something embarrassed which I don't feels like mentioning it here..swt...for today....had badminton session again and did my assignment...life seems boring isn't it...haha...gonna end my day early today for the chelsea vs liverpool game later..haha...for this week..hope that I could wrap up my project (if everything is going smoothly)...as well as wrapping up at least 2 assignment...(done half of it already)... Then thesis.....then having presentation this week..phew..going to be a busy week....haha...hope to write more next time....that's all for now and have a great night...
